RiverGirl Fishing Company is a full-service fishing and rental shop located in the historic crossroads community of Todd where Elk Creek flows into the South Fork of the New River. Their goal is to help customers enjoy the river by providing quality education, equipment, and guidance. RiverGirl offers a wide range of services tailored to the needs of our customers, including fly-fishing lessons, guided trips, and equipment sales. Todd General Store

Todd General Store Visit the Todd General Store and recapture a time when life was simple and genuine.

Meet the mountain folks and listen to talks of the railroad days when Todd was the largest town in both Watauga and Ashe Counties in the North Carolina mountains.

The Todd General Store features a deli, crafts, home-made jellies, ice cream, antiques, collectibles, music and tapes, rustic furnishings and local author books. Seasonal outside dining on the front or back porches are great locations for the homemade dinners on Tuesday and Friday nights. Storytelling on Tuesdays at 6 pm. Todd Mercantile & Bakery

Todd MercantileThe Todd Mercantile and Bakery is a friendly, low key little spot to stop and snack.

They use organic ingredients as much as possible and are lucky enough to be friends with local farmers who bring eggs, molasses and, recently, hand-milled rye flour for baking. Todd Mercantile is committed to supporting the local economy, farmers and businesses in Todd through the sale of local arts and crafts and baked goods. The Bakery is open daily except Monday. Todd Mercantile is also a free wi-fi hotspot, so bring your laptop or smartphone, grab a cup of coffee, a pastry and catch up on your email inside or on the new covered porch overlooking scenic Todd. Wahoo's Adventures

Wahoo's AdventuresWahoo’s Adventures offers several ways for you to enjoy the New River including kayaking, tubing and canoeing. Wahoo's has been an outfitter in Todd for the past 33 years and their New River Outpost is located two miles up Big Hill Road from downtown Todd and features more than 1,000 feet of river frontage. Before launching downstream, guests receive a brief lesson on the basic strokes, water safety tips, and what to expect on the river.

Wahoo’s offers tours from two to seven hours and overnight trips are available on request. If you’re an avid fisherman, don’t forget to bring your pole and tackle box and be prepared for a great day of fishing. Wahoo's also offers state-of-the-art camping equipment, along with guides who will set up your campsite and prepare delicious meals cooked over an open fire. Riverside Restaurant at Brownwood

Riverside RestaurantLocated in the heart of the Brownwood community, 3.5 miles from downtown Todd, Riverside Restaurant is a new establishment with deep roots. Located in the historic former R.T. Greer Root and Herb Warehouse, the Riverside Restaurant is owned and operated the Cooper family which settled the Brownwood community when wagons and horses were the only way to get there.
